David Neal, CET, CFEI, CCFI-C, CVFI, is co-owner of Point of Origin Consultants Ltd. Dave has a background in forensic investigations, including fire and explosions, mechanical failures, personal injuries and motor vehicle crashes. He has developed a network of professional engineers, engineering technologists and mechanical technicians to assist in completing investigative engineering studies and has extensive experience in dealing with corporate, government, and private entities. Dave has been qualified in both the Court of Queen’s Bench and Provincial Court in New Brunswick to give opinion evidence on fire origin, fire patterns, fire cause and extent of damage for both structures and vehicles.
In addition to being a registered member of the New Brunswick Society of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (NBSCETT), Dave is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI), a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator (CVFI), a Canadian Certified Fire Investigator – Level C (CCFI-C) and a Wood Energy Technology Transfer Inc (WETT) Site Basic Inspector. He is a member of the Canadian Association of Fire Investigators (CAFI), the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI), the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), and Wood Energy Technology Transfer Inc. (WETT), and the Atlantic Chapter of the Canadian Association of Technical Accident Investigators and Reconstructionists (CATAIR).
